Father recalls Kassi Henderson’s big heart, her jokes, her kind spirit
A Phoenix native who was killed in the Florida panhandle was remembered Friday by her father for her strength as a person and her loving nature.
Kassi Henderson, 33, was visiting her friend Mary Reed, 61, in Florida for the winter because she hated the cold, said Kassi’s father, Brock Henderson of Phoenix.
Henderson and Reed were shot Feb. 11 and William Hawk, 75, was taken into custody the next day in a suspected domestic-violence case, authorities said.
Kassi had gone to school with Reed’s son, and when he died of cancer, it brought the two closer together, Henderson said.
